Hi,

i'd really like to create a new post for everyone who is searching for a new RAID-Controller. It would be very nice if everyone could post his controller type, the used Hard-Drives and the Performance-Messurements on this device.

i hope many people reply and share this informations with other to make decissions for new hardware easier

The RAID device is not 'mountable' on the ProxMox VE server, its mounted in a VM,
where pveperf doesn't work correctly, so a 'dd' test is used in the VM.

Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C2750 @ 2.41GHz (OctaCore) + HighPoint RR2720 (SATA/SAS 6Gbps) + 6 WD Reds 4TB in RAID-5 ( Half-fake-RAID )

[root@<vm> Test]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=64k
65536+0 records in
65536+0 records out
4294967296 bytes (4.3 GB) copied, 13.3201 s, 322 MB/s (Write Performance)

[root@<vm> Test]# dd of=/dev/zero if=test bs=64k count=64k
65536+0 records in
65536+0 records out
4294967296 bytes (4.3 GB) copied, 17.0214 s, 252 MB/s (Read Performance)

For the homeserver I'm using it for, this is more than adequate, since this will fully saturate my 1Gbps network both up and downstream,
while drawing less than 80Watts from the wall under load.
