Best practice: Installation via apt or new?

Hi.
I have an old server with proxmox that is already used for backups. What's the best practice in this case: a fresh installation or simply "apt-get install proxmox-backup-server"? Is it a problem when there's a normal Proxmox Installation on the same server? Or is it not recommended?
Thanks.

hi,

ideally you would have a separate server for this, that doesn't run VMs.

however you can use them in conjunction like you described, by apt installing it.

Ok, thank you.
In my case the second server is already seperated ... no VM is set to "Autostart".
I will try it by "apt" then first ... maybe it's even possible to remove the "normal" Proxmox-Server by "apt" in the same way?
