Best Harddisk performace without RAID?

Hi there,

i want to use PVE 2 with an Win7 guest in KVM. My host has 2 sata disks, but no hardware raid. The only thing i can do is a software raid or a LVM over both disks. How do i get the best harddisk performance for my Win7 guest? With PVE 1.9 ive used a LVM over both disks and used this LVM in RAW mode with Virtio Drivers. Is this the best method also for PVE 2?

Or would you recomend me another configuration?

there are no changes between 1.9 and 2.0 for accessing storage on low-level.
