Hi all,

I'm a bit of of a novice, and unfortunately I haven't found specific guides on how to accomplish what I'm after - which is likely a lack of knowledge on my end.

Goal: Backup 2 Win10 devices onto a mirrored storage pool setup on PVE, using Samba.

I setup my pool (Inferno_Pool) - but I'm not clear if I should be setting up a Samba container that points to Inferno_Pool?

You can set up a VM/CT with a volume on the Inferno_Pool storage. It might make sense to split the root partition (where you install the OS) and the data partition (which you share via SMB) - but you don't have to.

Then just set up the SMB share, so it points to the disk you created on the 'Inferno Pool'.

Also, just in case: It is advisable to also have an off-site backup as well. A mirrored pool in itself is a good start, but you always want off-site backups as well.
