Backupsize equal to VM disk size? Is it normal?

When I make a snapshot backup of VM that has 150 GB disk but only 30 GB is used, has a snapshot (not compressed) backup but backup size is 150 GB.

Disk has 30GB used only. Is this normal?

where is the vm-disk located? LVM, raw file on local disk, NFS?

Backup is located in second physical disk that is mounted system and set as Directory in storage menu. And VM's disk is raw and bus is ide.

But I looked at backup again and see it now as tar and it is 8 GB only. I think thats all fine now.

imho raw fills up the hole space. Maybe you can try to convert it to qcow2 ?!
