Backupserver with ONE Datastorage usable for more than one ve instances?

Hey,

actually i got 2 Proxmox instances and i want to use the backup server.
Every Proxmox VE instance has VMs with the same ID.

Would the backup server handle it or would it overwrite backups, if ve2 backups after ve1 the machine with id 101 for example?

The backups will be overwriten. So you have 3 opportunities.

1. Make a Cluster
2. change the ID's of the backups on the second node, for example 2xx
3. Make separate backuppools for every server on your PBS
