I have a question about the 'Repeat missed' feature for scheduled backups in Proxmox:
  1. We have backup jobs scheduled to two different destinations.
  2. I understand that Proxmox runs only one backup job at a time.
  3. If the backup to destination 1 is running, the job to destination 2 will be skipped unless 'Repeat missed' is enabled.
My question is: What happens if the backup to destination 2 is scheduled frequently and misses multiple runs due to the ongoing backup to destination 1? For example, if the job to destination 2 misses 5 scheduled runs, will Proxmox:
a) Run the job to destination 2 five times consecutively once destination 1's backup is complete?
b) Run the job to destination 2 only once, regardless of how many times it was missed?
c) Behave differently?

I'd appreciate clarification on how Proxmox handles multiple missed backups with the 'Repeat missed' option enabled.

Thank you!

(currently on PVE7, but upgrading to PVE8 soon)

Hello,
As the documentation explains, if you activate the feature " Repeat missed", for each task couldn't start, the system will try as soon as possibile.
But I want to raccomend to use Remote feauture if you want to have anorher backup level.
For example, you can use "local" PBS for frequent backups (destination 1) and a "remote" PBS (destination 2).
The backup task and remote task are totally indipendet.
