Backups in PVE-2.3

Hi,

can someone explain me, how the Backups in PVE-2.3 exactly works?
I do not understand what is going on in the Background on Snapshot-/Suspend-/Stop- Mode.

When the VM is stopped and i start a Backup with mode "stop", the machine starts in a "Prelaunch" mode, what is it?
When the VM is running and i start a Backup with mode "stop", the mashine is going down, Backup starts, and the VM is up again immediately, even the backup is still running!? How does that work?

The VM is prepared to start, but not actually started. But you can start any time when in that state.

When the VM is running and i start a Backup with mode "stop", the mashine is going down, Backup starts, and the VM is up again immediately, even the backup is still running!? How does that work?

It makes some kind of snapshot when the VM is stopped, so the VM can be started again immediately.
