Backup very slow

Hello,

I'am using a PVE Cluster of 4 nodes ( v6.2.15) with an external ceph storage of 3 nodes. My Proxmox nodes and ceph nodes work in a 10Gbits environnement.

I've tried several backup destination , NAS, Proxmox Backup Server but the result is the same. My Backup are very very slow

Iperf between PM node and PM Backup Server is correct as you can see belove. ( 9,14 gbits/sec)

Have you got an idea. How can i improve it? Thanks you.

Configuration :
PM nodes: HP Proliant 385 Gen 10 / 2 SSD Disks with ZFS RAID1 for Promox OS
CEPH nodes : HP Proliant 385 Gen 10 / 2 SSD Disks with ZFS RAID1 for Promox OS / SSD Disks for journal logs / SATA 7200K for the diffents OSD
Proxmox backup server : Hp proliant Gen8 - 2 SAS 15000k ZFS RAID1 for Proxmox OS

1.) PBS is designed for SSDs because HDDs can't handle all the IOPS required for a fast operation. PBS should use a local storage and no network share. You didn't wrote how you store your PBS datastores, so I guess they are stored on that HDD mirror too.
2.) You didn't showed us what type of guest or what type of backup mode you are using. LXC vs VM and "stop" vs "snapshot" mode can make a big difference.

1/ My PBS use a local storage -> so on my HDD SAS 15000K disk mirror.
2/ I im using VM backup and snapshot Mode. I ve tried to use the "stop" mode , its faster indeed . But That's not what i want. I dont want to stop vm' during backup.

I know people who have a similar environnment : ceph storage, HDD on Proxmox Backup, VM' backup, snapshot mode . Backup are faster than me.
Personnaly , i think there is something wrong in ma configuration but i dont know what yet. It seems backup process using a 1gbit/sec link instead of 10gbits link..

I forgot to say that I ve tried to create a vm' in the local disk of a PM' Node. No problem, the speed is correct : 1Gbit/sec. ( snapshot mode)

Whereas the speed on vm's stored in my Ceph pool : 30 Mbits/sec. Its not normal..
