Backup jobs and "root@pam" user

Hi,

I'm testing the nice backup job feature and create a job with a small retention. It looks very promising, I think I'll love it!

I have an personal user with Administrator role. To test the job, I clicked "[Run now]" in the Web GUI, but I got an error:
Code:
Some errors have been encountered:
iblpve: Parameter verification failed. (400)

prune-backups: Only root may set this option.
(no backup is created).

I intended no to use root@pam at all, but a dedicated user account for every admin. Now it seems that this is not possible for backups? Or is this another issue?

Then I tried to simply set schedule to "*/5" and now my job got started (using personal account, not root). Is this a glitch?

Thanks for reading,
Steffen

yes, this is a bug. @t.lamprecht also ran into this a while ago and we already decided what to do: it makes sense to allow setting the parameter when manually running the backup for users that can edit the job anyway. But I haven't gotten around to writing the patch to fix it yet, I plan on doing so today or early next week.

EDIT: Patches have been sent, but most likely will land only some time after Proxmox VE 7.3 is out.

EDIT 2: should be fixed in Proxmox VE 7.3 :)
