I'm using a headless disk image as a shared storage container between multiple containers. The disk image was created via:
Bash:
pvesm alloc local 9999 'vm-9999-shared.raw' 10G --format raw
For the moment this disk image is mounted on the host and the included as a mount point on the individual containers.

As there exists no VM or container with an ID 9999 I am not able to backup this disk image.
It would be very great to also include this headless disk image to the Proxmox Backup schedule.

A workaround would be to have a VM 9999 that is shared like you do now. As a minimal OS for the container, Alpine Linux is the choice.
