Hi.

I have issues with the backup report. This are send from root@hostname.localdomain and hostname (reeplaced by the realhostname) but localdomain don´t so the domain of sender don´t exist.

Example:

Reporting-MTA: dns; serverhost.localdomain
X-Postfix-Queue-ID: 6D50E4D4E32
X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; root@serverhost.localdomain
Arrival-Date: Sat, 9 Oct 2010 03:05:42 -0300 (ART)

Final-Recipient: rfc822; soporte@xxxx.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.1.8
Remote-MTA: dns; www.xxxx.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 553 5.1.8 <root@serverhost.localdomain>... Domain of sender
address root@serverhost.localdomain does not exist

Any fix to set the mail of sender?

Any fix to set the mail of sender?

Edit the file /etc/postfix/main.cf and at the beginning insert the line

myhostname = your-hostname.your-domain-name

then reload config with the command

# postfix reload

In the above directive your-hostname.your-domain-name is the full host.domain (e.g. host.example.com)
