Backup disks independently from VMs?

Hi,

Is it possible to (only) backup a disk, i.e. without the entire VM (which may comprise more disks)? (I know that I can exclude or include additional disks with a VM backup, but I want to exclude the VM and only backup the additional disk).

Reason is: I want to backup my nextcloud data disk - but just the disk. So I could restore it to a new instance (I am aware that I need to backup the database, too).

If you use PBS you could use the backup client to manually backup files or block devices.
