Backup Advice requested

Dear All,
Good morning
We have now PVE8 running on 8 node cluster based on CEPH . For Proxmox and for other purpose we plan to back a backup solution of 200 TB disk space
Our knowledge with ProxMOX Backup is very less, so we request guidance on the following

• Does the ProxMOX backup also based on CEPH
• Can it have CIFS/NFS shared drive which can be used by other machines other than PVE
• How could we short list a hardware for the going for backup solution based on ProxBMOX Backup

• Does the ProxMOX backup also based on CEPH
  • PBS primary uses ZFS or ext4 and XFS if you can not use ZFS cause of Raid-Controller or other reasons. But ZFS is preferred.
• Can it have CIFS/NFS shared drive which can be used by other machines other than PVE
  • You can configure that, cause it is Debian 12 under the hood, but no with the WebGUI.
• How could we short list a hardware for the going for backup solution based on ProxBMOX Backup
  • Any Hardsare that can run PVE can also run PBS, both are based on Debian 12 in current versions.
