Good day all,

I am wondering about the following question:
How do you backup servers over the internet to the backup server?

As i see it now, this happens over port 8007, which is also the web interface. I would prefer the web interface to be not accessible from the internet. Is it possible to change the port on which the backups come in to the server?

no, the gui and api is served by the same daemon and the backup happens over the api

you can use a firewall to only allow access from specific ips for example, or use some kind of tunnel/vpn to connect to the backup server
