Avast for Proxmox Mail Gateway 8.0

Hi everyone,

we're using PMG with an additional subscription to Avast, but it looks like Avast for Linux does not support Debian bookworm yet. Does anyone here have an idea when that might be available? Or would it be possible to upgrade PMG to 8.0 keeping the current Avast setup in place? I guess not, but maybe someone has a workaround for this.

In a very quick test it seems that the avast for bullseye still works with bookworm.

For more details it's probably best to ask the Avast support.
or open a thread in their community forum:

I hope this helps!

Thanks for creating the thread in the Avast forum and reporting back here! - much appreciated!

I use "avast" as virus protection. I upgraded to version 8.0. Avast is running, no problem.

Yes - as said above - in a quick test it looked ok to us here as well - however - as @hmalzahn pointed out - Avast does not support this (and will probably not test this)

Upgrading from PMG 7 works, because the necessary libraries (see the linked Avast-post above) simply stay installed in the version from bullseye.

It gives an error as below.

Code:
W: GPG error: https://repo.avcdn.net/linux-av/deb debian-bookworm Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 129FB08FBDECFE35
E: The repository 'https://repo.avcdn.net/linux-av/deb debian-bookworm Release' is not signed.
TASK ERROR: command 'apt-get update' failed: exit code 100
