Automatic Backup Failing but Manual is working

It is a few days that the automatic back up is failing. I feel it is happening after the last update of a non subscribed version.
I have set the email confirmation for back up and this is what I receive:

However, if I start it manually the backup is done without any issue.

I am on version: pve-manager/8.1.4/ec5affc9e41f1d79 (running kernel: 6.5.11-7-pve)

I would appreciate some hint about how to debug and solve this issue.

To add top the above. I see this is the message I get:

vzdump backup status (felixs.local): backup failed: could not activate storage 'Synology': unable to activate storage 'Synology' - directory '/mnt/pve/Synology' does not exist or is unreachable

That's strange because apparently I don't see any issue with theNAS. Starting the backup manually works, at time I have to attempt twice to get it starting.
