I have an Asus 3150M-E board (https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/N3150ME/) at home that currently runs proxmox 4.3 and then my home router, PfSense and a UCS server acting as a samba4 backup domain controller.

Obviously it's not a very powerful board and it's not really aimed at being a server so I don't expect much from it. It seems to run fine usually given that the only VM On it really under load is the router running routerOS (pfSense is there for IPS but only on the IOT/UCS Vlans)

The only problem I seem to have with it is I can't shutdown/reboot it (Which usually only comes into play when there's a new pve kernel out). Essentially what will happens is proxmox will shutdown the running VM's stop services and then it seems to hang right at the final point where it should reboot.

There's a couple PCI-E NIC's and a Draytek VigorNIC132 in there but otherwise not much else.

Hi,

this sound like a Bios problem with the reset.
Do you have the latest bios version on your board?

Does poweroff works?

No poweroff hangs as well

I'm not sure on the UEFI version i'll hookup a screen and see if it needs an update

Hmm UEFI is the latest, however I changed some settings to do an EFI boot and disable the CSM and proxmox was then able to reboot the machine.

I'll give it a few mins and then try again incase that was a one off.

Edit:

Looks like it's possibly a problem with the Legacy/Bios mode on that board.
