I would like to use this UPS: https://www.sieuthivienthong.com/ng...on-luu-dien-ups-ares-ar615/24408/details.html
(Sorry it is in Vietnamese. Chrome can translate it for you.)
Found a link in English (I think....): http://stmtelecom.vn/en/product/ups-ares-ar615-power-source-10838

I am currently running Proxmox 6.1 and netdata
I have 2 VMs that I use at the same time (Win10 and MacOS Catalina)
Here are my components:
Gigabyte X570 Pro Wi-Fi
Ryzen 3900X
Noctua NH-15S
64GB Hyperx 3000Mhz CL15 (16 x 4)
EVGA Supernova 1000 G3 Gold Power Supply
WD Blue 1TB SSD (x4)
WD HDD 8TB x 2
Gigabyte 2070 Super
Sapphire Pulse RX580
Zotac Geforce GT 710

Currently I only use 795-800 watts and according to Outervision.com, I would need a 1500VA UPS.
Unfortunately in my country the APC UPS is ungodly expensive.

Can I use the above linked UPS with Proxmox in the event of a power outage (they are frequent here and I just lost 3 SSDs and 1 HDD due to power outages)
I know that the UPS comes with software for Windows and Mac (which are VMs), but Proxmox is Linux and I am not sure that the UPS can auto-shutdown my system.

I know that there is NUT (but I don't know if it is compatible with the aforementioned UPS or if it universal for any UPS)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi,

can't seem to find any mention of linux support anywhere for this model, i'd still ask the manufacturer.

probably you're better off buying something with actual linux support

seems to not support it according to here [0] but i guess you can try something else on their list which has support

Thanks for the reply
I noticed that ARES is listed on the page you referenced as noted in the attached screenshot.
I just need it to shut the computer off when the power goes out and I think this should do it...?

UPS Type=19 Fideltronic Ares Series

could work, but "Other Ares Series" may or may not include that model
