Are there any agents available to backup databases like mysql/galera/percona ?

Our databases are too big for the "dump to file and backup it" approach.
Any hints ?

you can of course always write your own agent if you want, the protocol is described here: https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/backup-protocol.html
ofc, you can also open a feature request here: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com but i cannot promise if or when we would implement it
(there are many features that we need before that)

Hi if the backup is via PVE and the server has qemu agent then you can use the freeze thaw the backup tells the agent to do that and in your OS there is a hook that picks that up then u write a script to flush the dB

The windows qemu agent also has a similar process

Thanks for the efforts, but nothing of the above matches
This is a cluster of a few debian nodes running a huge, heavily written to database thus snapshotting or dumping is not an Option.

.... and Galera is not a DataBase! It is a tool used for mysql.perconadb/mariadb to have a DataBase Cluster!
