ofc, you can also open a feature request here: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com but i cannot promise if or when we would implement it
(there are many features that we need before that)
Hi if the backup is via PVE and the server has qemu agent then you can use the freeze thaw the backup tells the agent to do that and in your OS there is a hook that picks that up then u write a script to flush the dB

This is a cluster of a few debian nodes running a huge, heavily written to database thus snapshotting or dumping is not an Option.
