Are the Guest tools similar to VMware tools or Guest Additions?

Hello,

Does Proxmox/KVM require extra tools to be installed on Guests to get better performance similar to VMware Tools or Guest Additions?

You need the 'virtio' drivers. Those are included in all recent Linux kernels, but you need to install them manually for windows guests.

Thanks for your hint! I believed the virtio were meant for HDDs only! Hopefully I was wrong!
