Hello,

I am running the latest non subscription release and I don't why but the apt-get update get stuck.

pve-manager/5.4-4/97a96833 (running kernel: 4.15.18-13-pve)

I tried changing it and the VMs don't have any issue. My setup has been working since months with no issue. Not sure what could explain the issue.

aptitude install screen
The following NEW packages will be installed:
screen
0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 592 kB of archives. After unpacking 1,006 kB will be used.
Get: 1 http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian stretch/main amd64 screen amd64 4.5.0-6 [592 kB]

If I check the network it seems weird:

Any idea of what the issue can be?

You can try to use another debian mirror (replace address in /etc/apt/sources.list):

https://www.debian.org/mirror/list
Yes I did try but it stucks on a subsequent item which also happens when I attempted to use another depot like:
deb http://debian.mirrors.ovh.net/debian stretch main contrib

Code:
 Actions Undo Package Resolver Search Options Views Help
C-T: Menu  ?: Help  q: Quit  u: Update  g: Preview/Download/Install/Remove Pkgs
                                  Packages                                                                    List Update
Connecting to ftp.fr.debian.org (2a01:e0c:1:1598::2)
Connecting to download.proxmox.com (2607:5300:60:5506::81)
Connecting to prod.debian.map.fastly.net (2a04:4e42:1d::204)

I believe the issue may be coming through the Proxmox depot
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pve-no-subscription

Thanks
Xavier

PS: I will wait and maybe it will get back to normal automatically :)

If I check the network it seems weird:
ping ftp.fr.debian.org
PING ftp.fr.debian.org(debian.proxad.net (2a01:e0c:1:1598::2)) 56 data bytes
^C
--- ftp.fr.debian.org ping statistics ---
9 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 8184ms

traceroute ftp.fr.debian.org
traceroute to ftp.fr.debian.org (212.27.32.66), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 MUR.localdomain (10.0.0.254) 0.177 ms 0.171 ms 0.158 ms

You ping the ipv6 address of ftp.fr.debian.org and get 100% packetloss, you traceroute to the ipv4 address of ftp.fr.debian.org and it works - I'd guess the problem is with ipv6 connectivity - your system seems to have a global ipv6 address and default route, which does not work - you could try disabling ipv6 and try updating again.

Hope this helps!
