Hello,
I'm new to promox , I downloaded some appliances and tried to add them.
when I trie to upload my appliance the upload I get a popup message telling me "Error : saving image failed" and the appliance is not added to the list !

the upload is done (I checked with httpfox) but when it finishes uploading I get this error and nothing is added.

can you help me resolve this please ?

thank you :)

see http://www.proxmox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2390

do you think it's because of template naming ?
I'm using proxmox 1.3 right now and the appliance I'm trying to upload is :

ubuntu-8.0-standard_8.04-1_i386.tar.gz
or
ubuntu-8.0-standard_8.04-1_amd64.tar.gz

It seems to be conform to the naming standard !

but It doesn't resolve my problem :(

change it to:

ubuntu-8.04-standard_8.04-1_i386.tar.gz

and

ubuntu-8.04-standard_8.04-1_amd64.tar.gz

Still having the same problem :/ a javascript popup at the end of upload with "Error : image saving failed" !

works here.

  • do you upload the template via our web interface?
  • which template (can you provide a link)?
  • which browser and OS do you use?

Yes

>> which template (can you provide a link)?
http://download.proxmox.com/appliances/system/ubuntu-8.0-standard_8.04-1_i386.tar.gz
AND
http://download.proxmox.com/appliances/system/ubuntu-8.0-standard_8.04-1_amd64.tar.gz

tried with ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) Firefox 3.5
and windows 2000 server Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 2.0

all gave me the same error !

[Edit]
I just tested with IE7 => same error

why don´t you use the integrated down loader for our appliances?

you can manually move the files to /var/lib/vz/template/cache (via scp).

this solution worked for me thank you :)

I thought I have to do it from web UI.

thank you again
