Hi all,

I have a weird issue with an APC that is connected to a Proxmox host server.
The APC runs fine when i don't connect the USB to the server, but when I connect the USB to the server the entire APC crashes after 1or 2 hours.
I don't have the issue with the APC when connected to a normal computer.

Are there installation steps necessary to connect a APC to a Proxmox server?
I sadly don't have a proxmox log, Proxmox seems to have purged the log before the APC crash.
(When the APC crashes the Proxmox host loses its only powersource)

My APC ups is hooked up to my proxmox node via usb as well, I use apcupsd for monitoring and logging.
Could you try installing the service and setting the "EVENTSFILE" setting to your liking in /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf.
Here's a little guide to set up the service for usage with usb: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/apcupsd

Maybe connect the APC to your host with usb but don't use it's power, that way your node will at least log what's going on with the ups instead of losing power too.
