Hi there,

as many many others I am very impressed about the level of integration of proxmox. I love having a very easy to use but functional web gui for openVZ. (I am not targeted at KVM)

I have some questions:

1) On my system, apache2 consumes 132MB right from the start and I think this is a bit high. Wouldn't it be more ressource friendly running the web interface on lighttpd or an webserver written in perl?
I mean this is not a high volume site, it's just administration and 132 MB are at least 100MB that could be assigned to VMs.

2) I already know the Roadmap page in the wiki, but is there any targeted release date for version 2? I am longing for the firewall integration especially and user management. BTW, is there any beta/alpha release out or where is the place to look for those?

3) Feature request: It would be cool to have integrated virtual machine monitoring with email notification if a host goes down or consuming abnormal cpu / memory ressources. Maybe this is something you can consider for future releases. Other than that this can of course be done through nagios, but having it integrated in your gui would be fantastic.

4) Feature request 2: Giving the ability to add other sources for appliance templates would be cool, but I guess this is already on the radar for the apt-like template management tool.

5) Feature request 3: RRD-like performance statistics/history would be cool to identify bottlenecks or balance time-consuming tasks on different servers.

Great thanks for this nifty product and keep up the good work

yes, apache needs a lot of RAM but due to the fact that some needed extensions are only for apache there is no change for a lighter browser.

next step is 1.2 (the first based on Lenny) in May. After this, we will go for the new storage management and so on ...

we have no release date for all 2.x features.

3) Feature request: It would be cool to have integrated virtual machine monitoring with email notification if a host goes down or consuming abnormal cpu / memory ressources. yes, its on the roadmap.

yes, also planned.

5) Feature request 3: RRD-like performance statistics/history would be cool to identify bottlenecks or balance time-consuming tasks on different servers.

yes, prototype is already done, later this year.

Great thanks for this nifty product and keep up the good work

thanks for your feedback. if you want to speed up development:
