Any way to use SSD as local cache for remote NAS?

I have a NAS that only has a gbit connection. Wondering if there's a way to use an SSD drive to cache access to it? When I try to Google this, it seems to mostly be about speeding up the NAS itself (for which there's no point given I only have gbit lan)

I don't think that is possible. But if you got several Gbit NICs on your NAS you could create a bond to increase the throughput. And SMB is capable of compressing data so you could get more data over that Gbit link.
