Hello,
I am having issues with massive IO delay on my server. What I believe makes this different is that the Mint VM has sole use of the HDDs.
My setup:
Protectli i7-8550U CPU
Proxmox storage:
Storage passed through as SCSI with "qm set":
Storage is in a Probox 8-bay enclosure, connected via USB.
Running PVE 8.1.3.
I am combining the drives using mergerfs and running parity with snapraid. I have created a 16TB volume with two parity drives and every time I run snapraid sync, the VM quits with an IO error and the HDDs are offline. When I look at the server data, IO delay is very high.
I used to do this with Debian, previously, and it worked well. I decided to set it up again on Debian after mothballing it for a year, but I got a few wayland errors that I could not fix (also got the IO error). So I decided to try MintDE.
Is my issue the slow HDDs? The mSATA drive? Or something to do with snapraid?
In the past, I ran a Syncthing container that would upload to a cloud drive and it would also give me high IO delay. I feel like I am doing something incorrectly. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to invest in a better computer.
Thanks!
