Hi,

we have a VM with DHCP running, within proxmox this works fine, VMs can obtain the DHCP IP.

We want to allow some LAN servers access to this DHCP server but when we try and PXE boot the LAN servers they are unable to obtain an IP, presumably the requests are not routed through the bridge?

How can we allow this.

thanks

Ian

Depends on your network setup and probably firewall settings. There is no limitation in PVE, booting PXE works just fine as with any other system.

I have ruled out the network as i have setup a test pxe server in XEN on a domu and our LAN servers can boot off it, however this one of the servers to be reimaged so isnt a solution going forward.

there are also no firewalls enabled on either the main PVE host or the PVE container. Is there some bridge settings somewhere to allow broadcast requests for DHCP?

sorted.

DHCP config has 2 entries for subnets

removed the incorrect one and all working, thanks anyway.
