All of a sudden, getting bouncebacks from gmail with the error "this message does not meet IPv6 sending guidelines regarding PTR

I get the following error all of a sudden today

this message does not meet IPv6 sending guidelines regarding PTR
<– 550-5.7.1 records and authentication

Has anyone seen this/know how to resolve it?

(found by googling the error message you posted)

without trying it explicitly - I assume that you need to set a reverse PTR record for your IPv6 address...

I ended up solving it via disabling ip v6 at the debian level so therefore forcing ipv4 as my cloud provider is unable or unwilling to assign a ptr to an ip v6 address

glad you found a workaround - still strange that your provider refuses to provide reverse ptrs.
