hello
Server:
MSI Z790p-wifi board with i9-13900K cpu

i am using SR-IOV to partition out my 13th Gen Intel iGPU
with Proxmox 8.2.2 or 8.3.0 server

i used the Derek Seaman Blog ,,GPU Passthrough,, for split the Intel Graka into 7 vGPU
every thing worked well the last half year

a fresh win11 24H2 installation works with no Problems

but when i Update an existing VM with win11 23H2 this doesnt work

strarting the Update then
when the Update process for 24H2 update is finish the vm starts and every thing is OK

but when the VM is rebooted or shutdown and restarted the second time after the Update

the VM booting into Automatik Repair and thats it

i tryed the win11 24H2 Update with the same VM on a Proxmox 8.2.2 and also on an Proxmox 8.3.0
on both the same beavior

it would be nice if someone has a solution for this Problem
or if someone needs more information like log etc. i happily will provide em.

thanks

I your problem solved ? I am having the same. 24H2 update stay on al the time if I tried to install and reboot. It seems not to install the new verion of windows 11 any suggestions ?

hello pingpong

no they are not
but there is some advance
the update to 24H2 is no possible
BUT:
the virtio drivers are not editable so
a work around whould be :

delete the virtio drivers
update to 24H2
and then try to reinstall the new virio drivers

for me
i created a new win11 24H2 VM
made it to Template
and rolled it out with sysprep
we have only a few VMs so it is not so a big problem

I had the same problem in my environment (PVE8.2.2).
The update to Winows11 upgrade 24H2 2024-12B was successful, but it would not start after rebooting.
Updating pve-qemu-kvm from 8.1.x to 9.0.2-5 allowed it to start normally.
