Hi everyone, I'm a Windows system engineer who knows other virtualization systems and who is looking at proxmox to play with home instant.
I installed 8.03 on an old desktop, I configured a container for openvpn, and now I was trying to launch the script to start the setup of the home assistant vm, simply from the shell with the command
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://github.com/tteck/Proxmox/raw/main/vm/haos-vm.sh)"
but the command is not executed
Googling I found a doc that said to launch a "post installation" on proxmox
here https://www.derekseaman.com/2023/06/home-assistant-proxmox-ve-8-0-quick-start-guide.html
and the command was bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://github.com/tteck/Proxmox/raw/main/misc/post-pve-install.sh)".

I state that proxmox had configured static IP.
upon completion of this script, proxmox was restarted.

since its restart I have not been able to access the web GUI, when logging in locally I saw the banner saying to connect to a different IP, released by dhcp.
you can't even reach this IP.
doing some troubleshooting I discovered that the /etc/network/interfaces file reported the correct static IP
while in /etc/hosts no, I therefore corrected it and restarted
now the banner is correct but you still can't connect
obviously from the shell I checked that the interfaces are up, that they reach the LAN network and also the internet (and that the static IP responds to itself)
I noticed instead that by pinging proxmox's IP from my PC, during the reboot, a couple of pings are successful so much so that for a few seconds the web GUI starts and I actually see that proxmox has rebooted and is starting the VMs, then again the pings fail and I lose connection to the web gui.

I don't know what else to do...can you give me a hand?
Thank you!!!

an update:
I tried to do
"systemctl status networking" and I see everything started.
then I tried doing "systemctl stop networking" and then following "systemctl start networking"
and magically I can log in.
I redid "systemctl status networking" to see if there were any differences but I don't see any.
I tried to restart proxmox but again to be able to access from web gui I have to stop and then start systemctl networking
why?
thks!!!!!
