Hello,
I've tried to install Proxmox on a Dell PowerEdge R520 using an USB stick.
The installation itself finished without any problems, but after trying to boot the server up again, it stucks while waiting for the /usr device and drops me into an initramfs shell.

I tried to re-install everything, even with different versions of Proxmox, using different installation sources (USB, CD Drive, Virtual Drive (using Dell iDRAC)), but with all variations I came to the same result.

I am really out of ideas. Did anyone have a similar behavior or a tip how this issue can be solved?

Thanks in Advance.

Regards

which disk options did you choose? ext4/xfs/zfs? the PVE installer does not setup a separate /usr ..

I feel ashamed to revieve such an old thread, but I simply forgot to reply back then.
The solution back then was as stupid as it sounds: The later Dell servers come with an SD card slot, on which there was another linux installed already - so instead booting from the SAS disks, it booted from the SD card, which tried to reference a partition on the SAS drives, which of course wasn't alive anymore ..
