I currently I only have ONE 2-terabyte hard drive which is not amazing, I know. as the disk start to reach nine years of total run time, as well as read and write speeds starting to become more important, It's definitely time for an upgrade. I don't think we can we dispute that.
I would like some general advice on how I should configure my new disks.
what I have available to install:
two 3 terabyte SAS drives as well as two 128 gig SATA SSDS.
Note: None of them are exactly new.
What I need:
My server consists of a round. Seven virtual machines but no more than five ever running at a time (usually).
Each VM has a disk size of around 10 gigabytes, however, some get up to the 64 range.
The server rarely gets rebooted so proxmox boot times are not necessarily that much of an issue.
Due to the limited size of the SSD's, They will probably become boot drives and hard drives for main storage.
My plan was to put the two hard drives in a raid 1. And then the SSDS in raid 0, backing up their data to the hard drives automatically.
Do you have an So read one is just a copy. y other suggestions? Or recommendations. Happy to answer any questions.
thanks
As a quick note, Sorry If this is a duplicate post, but Because of the specificity I couldn't find an existing answer.
