Advice on activating garbage and prune from archives

Hi to all in my pbs, I set up the scheduler for removing and cleaning backups.


I wanted to get advice if the garbage and plum are well configured this way and if they don't actually load the disk system too much.

If I understand the schedule syntax right that means you want to GC every 2nd full hour and prune every 3rd full hour? Keep in mind that only stuff will be deleted by GC that was pruned atleast 24 hours before. And looks like you only got daily and no hourly backups, so why do you want to prune/GC that often? Wouldn't be one prune per day + one GC per day some hours after the prune be fine then? Because Pruning/GC causes alot of load...especially on HDDS which can'T handle the millions of IOPS well which this could cause.

Thank you for answering . The backup that I have scheduled is of the daily type, divided into 3 times. Following the examples of the faq on pbs I have copied as an example what you see in the image. So a practical example of garbage would be to have it run 1 vokta sl day? Ex. 4.00 pm garbage and 5.00 pm prune.
