Adding non empty node to cluster

Deat team, i have 3 standalone nodes , 1st node contains around 10 VMs and other 2 nodes doesn't hv any VM in it yet. My concern is, Will it be safe for node 1 to be added in cluster while its not empty?

1] which node is recommended to be master? empty nodes or node with vm's configured in it?
2]is it recommended to hv all nodes empty while creating cluster of nodes?

In my case where one node is not empty and two are empty, what is your recommendation for adding those in cluster?

Hey,

you should create the cluster on the non-empty node since when joining an existing cluster the node has to be empty. For the creation, it is fine if the node already has guests, however, when joining a cluster it cannot have any guest due to possibly conflicting IDs[1]. Try to follow[2] and if you run into any problems just post here again.
