Adding a GUI to openvz

Does anyone know if it is possible to add a GUI to a openvz template, i have used a ubuntu 10.04 template to create a VM and ran the install to add a gnome gui but when i ran the startx is errors out, I tried the same with a Centos 5 template and got exactly the same message.

Any Ideas

Have a look at installing NX on openvz.

I can already access the vm using VNC connection, but i need to install a gnome GUI as the backup software i use requires it.
