Added a new hard drive SMART is reporting unknown

So I added a new 10tb WD Red to my proxmox server to use for storing a VM. I went to the disks section and tried to do initialize disk with GPT and it errored out. Exit code 4, so then I went to do smartctl to check the disk and also got exit code 4 (We found prefail Attributes <= threshold.) Now this is a brand new drive just added to the machine, anyone got any idea what is going on with it or how to fix it?
 
Did you counter check the drive on another known working (especially in regard of: SATA-controller and -port and -cable) system, including other cables?

Yeah I put it in an external dock to my windows machine and it's fine as far as I could tell.
