add lvm local disk to storage

I've added a pair of SSDs to one of my vm five hosts and i plan to use this to store a single vm disk. I followed this guide, https://www.hostfav.com/blog/index.php/2017/02/01/add-a-new-physical-hard-drive-to-proxmox-ve-4x-5x/ to add the drive to my storage pool but when I get to the step to add the newly created LVM disk to the storage, i does not show. It only shows pve.

What am I doing wrong?

On that storage you can create a disk, that in turn will create a LV on the VG you have added.

vgdisplay
pvdisplay

show the newly create volume group of yours?

Yes, both pve and SSD show up for each.

I've upgraded all of my hosts to 5.2 and I've got the volume group "ssd" showing under LVM on the host that has the drives installed. However, when I go to add the LVM to the storage under Datacenter, it says "no disk unused".
