Add hooks to sync job possible?

Hey,

ive got a PVE server with PBS VM on site that is the default Backup target. On another site i have a PBS configured as remote that pulls the nightly backup via the sync from remote function. I do this with a VPN connection site to site. This connection however is currently running 24/7 and thats about 23,5 hours a day more than it would need to. Is there a way to add hooks to the sync function to have it establish and close the VPN connection as a pre- and post-hook? Or would there another way to do this somewhat comfortably?

Hi,

if I understand you correctly you want to add a hook to PBS that runs before/after sync jobs? This is currently not possible, but there is already an open issue on our bug tracker [1].
