Good day All....

Adding vLan and OVSIntPort to each host, wondering if there is a way to avoid reboot on Proxmox 4, to activate network changes
I have searched everywhere, what i have found so far, is to start:
/etc/init.d/pvenetcommit....
But,
pvenetcommit does not exist in that path in PROXMOX 4 .... Another, thread is recommending a reboot is required...

So, I am stuck and would like to know if someone can help me out....what is the proper way avoiding the downtime ...

Thank you for your help ...

Thanks for the reply. Since, i Do not know what the pvenetcommit does, I am not sure if we could do as you have suggested. Do you know what the service does.?
Thank you for your help

Hi,
we create a file /etc/network/interfaces.new
and after reboot we copy it over /etc/network/interfaces
this is only a protection that people can't do so quick changes.

It is also necessary to change the /etc/hosts
and restart pveproxy get the gui back online on the new ip

Hi ...
Thanks wolfgang for the reply ....
I just want to know, if I change the file: /etc/network/interfaces and restart the network service,
is sufficient enough or must reboot.

Thank you for your help ......

The problem is that restarting the service do not work in Debian 8.
you can work with ip command.
or if you add a interdace it is enough to call ifup <interface>.
the same if you change a setting you can use ifdown and then ifup.
