I ask you to help me sort out the client's acme setup and addressing.

http leads to the ip of the mail server, the client cannot manage the acme zone dns (its own server with bind, does not support api).

how to set up pmg and acme client correctly for obtain letsencrypt ssl?

Why not use the standalone http-challenge? If port 80 is arriving at the PMG this should work

Then you could try to setup a cname for validation to another DNS server, which does support a acme.sh plugin...

If there was not only anti-spam, but a full-fledged mail server, Proxmox Mail Server - it would be cool and would solve all the problems!

Setup a little machine with Nginx Proxy Manager
Add news site with HTTP only option
The certificate will be requested and generated by the PMG API in a transparent way
Enjoy and use Nginx for the other hosts, it would be ideal considering that you only have a single IP

Can you send the setup instructions? Didn't work with nginx api before
