Is there a command line to get the nodename from virtual machine. I need to access a directory on the host from VM but i need to know the hostname.

Hi,
if you install lldpd on host and VM you can use "lldpcli show neighbors" to see the host.

Thanks for the reply Udo..
With lldpad, I believe, it is able to dicover all other host. I need to discover only the host VM is running on, is there a way to do that.

lldpctl show
it shows node under VM

or you can try qemu-guest-agent
