Access Optical Drives

I have a Blue-Ray and DVD drive in my server since none of the other computers in my house have an optical drive anymore. I have 2 questions.
1. How can I set this up to be accessible in a VM?
2. How can I set this up to share to my desktop? The 5900X in my desktop will transcode a lot faster than my 3600 in my server.

I've read KVM only supports data DVD so audio and video DVDs wont work.
