Hello, have this issue:

Exange 2003 uses a internet mail connector to other SMTP server, this other server send mail to internet, has reverse DNS, and all configurations needed.

How can I do for send mail using Proxmox as SMTP, but usin my SMTP server, example

EX2003 -->Proxmox-->MYSMTP server--> Internet

Maybe you asking "why this guy wants to do this?" the answer is beacuse I need to use 2 public IP, one for the MX and other for SMTP, and for internal polices can't be the same IP for MX and SMTP.

Hope someone undersand and help me, tnks.

as far as I understand your problem you just need to add your "MYSMTP server" as the smarthost. See "Configuration/Mail Proxy/Options: Smarthost"

by doing this, the mail gateway will send all outgoing emails to this server.

Hello, I do that

Configuration--> mail Proxy --> Options --> Smarthost --> 172.29.37.90:25

then, change the exchange internet connector form my SMTP (172.29.37.90) to Proxmox IP. Afther a minute in all uses got the message: Relay access denied>

Proxmox works fine as AntiSpam, but I not able to configure it as SMTP.

relay access denied means that you connect to the external port.

you need to connect to the internal port and you need to add your IP to the internal/trusted network.

In ports have:
Internal 26
external 25

In the smarthost configuration put the ip: port 172.29.37.90:25

Did you mean that in the Exchange 2003 connector I have to put the proxmox IP but pointing to the port 26?

yes. but unfortunately MS Exchange 2003 will not work with port with 26. you can set it but it will not work, its a limitation of the exchange 2003.

solution: you need to change the ports setup.

Internal 25
external 26
