Hello, I have a storage question for consultation. I used iscsi storage and checked "Use LUNs directly" to divide a large datastore to create virtual machines. In addition, there are also direct mount lun disks as virtual machine disks. Recently I find that the disk performance of the datastroe virtual machine is particularly low, and the performance of the direct LUN disk is not bad. Why is this?

How big is your LUN for the many VMs and how many are there?

I think your understanding about iscsi direct is wrong.
docu say:
Storage pool type: iscsidirect
This backend provides basically the same functionality as the Open-iSCSI backed, but uses a user-level library (package libiscsi2) to implement it.
