Proxmox is a server type "appliance" that, in your case. relies on external storage. Its configured to probe that storage to ensure that Proxmox can do its job. The probe is a simple CIFS connection.
Storage appliance logs every CIFS user share access to a system log. One could argue that system log should be reserved for more critical messages. You should reach out to the storage appliance community to see if share access can be sent to another location or not logged at all.
Imagine an environment with 100 CIFS users or 1000, what a nightmare it would be to find a legitimate system event among the entries that say some user accessed a share.
I would also traceback your steps and see if you enabled some "audit" function that is not "on" by default.
