no cd-rom - not sure why the command is referencing a cd-rom
I am attempting to install an ISO image from a sd card in a USB carrier.

Checksum checks out.
C:\Users\matth\Downloads>certUtil –hashfile proxmox-ve_8.1-1.iso SHA256
SHA256 hash of proxmox-ve_8.1-1.iso:
9018a17307ad50eb9bf32a805d0917d621499363ef87b0b477332ed9f9d7dcc1
CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

It is unclear to me why the command is referencing a cdrom, why would that be?
Can the Install.pm file be modified to fix this?

Thank you!

Hi,

no cd-rom - not sure why the command is referencing a cd-rom
It's just an internal reference, i.e. in the installer, the ISO is mounted at /cdrom. So that is fine.

How exactly did you write the ISO to the SD card? The above error often happens if the ISO is not written correctly to the installation medium.
It might be also a weird interaction with the SD card reader, they are often built pretty cheap.

I downloaded the iso onto my Windows 11 computer from your website.
I used the program rufus version 4.4.2103 to put the iso image onto a sd card in a "Canakit Microsd Reader".

@cheiss ss I did get the install to complete after trying another USD Drive device. There were some messages however that went past on the screen that indicated possible issues may need to be aware of, or at least determine if they are of concern. Is there a log for the messages of the install that can be accessed for review? Thanks.

Great to hear it worked after all. Then maybe it really was just a faulty USB device.

Looking it up, it really is a pretty cheap device, these often don't fully conform to specs.

Not after the installation is done and the machine is rebooted. If you have any clue what was written there (even if it just some words!), I probably could relate the cause.
But if the machine (re)boots fine, than you should not need to worry. Performing a system upgrade is also recommended after installation, which could also fix things.

Below are links to a screen shot was of video I took of an earlier attempt showing an error of concern and the entire video (only a few seconds long)
I am providing google links as your system here will not allow these files sizes.
