8.1 Install fails on NUC13OXi7 due to wifi

Hello!

I just got 3 SimplyNUC (NUC13OXi7) units and was planning to set up a 3 node proxmox cluster with them, but the installer fails because of the integrated wifi chip... I personally don't need wifi on those machines, but unfortunately you can't disable them in the BIOS and the way they are mounted/glued makes me not want to remove them entirely. So i am looking for a solution to install proxmox while this device is still present.

i've attached a screenshot of the console showing the error when booting into the installer. Is there any way to tell the installer in the boot options to just ignore the wifi interface?

any help appreciated!

Hi, if the wifi chip causes problems for the installer, maybe you could try blacklisting [1] its driver iwlwifi:

1. Boot from the ISO until you see GRUB's "Welcome to Proxmox Virtual Environment" screen
2. Select "Install Proxmox VE (Graphical)" and press e to edit the entry
3. In the editor that opens, look for the line starting with linux
4. At the end of that line, append (separated by a space) module_blacklist=iwlwifi
5. Press F10 to boot

Thanks, that worked. I was still getting the "out of range" error from dhcpd, which seems to have been caused by the time/year set in the BIOS. I am able to install now!
