the debian 7.0 minimal template here: http://wiki.openvz.org/Download/template/precreated
ie http://download.openvz.org/template/precreated/debian-7.0-x86_64-minimal.tar.gz
is debian 7.6 per /etc/debian_version
(so why not name it as such?)
Same deal with the 'full' image http://download.openvz.org/template/precreated/debian-7.0-x86_64.tar.gz except it's 7.7 but named 7.0 (and yet create date seconds apart from the minimal).
And why has it been set to upstart instead of sysVinit? Thought upstart was totally deprecated and not part of the debian war over systemd/sysVinit?

also:
Code:
$ cat /etc/apt/preferences.d/parallels
Package: sysvinit
Pin: release c=main
Pin-Priority: -1
