64 bit compatibilty ?

Dis someone try 64bit Edition or Windows 2003 and 2008 ?

yes, I worked with Win2008 (64-bit), use IDE disks (as always with windows) and virtio network drivers (best performance). make sure you grab the latest one, and follow the readme - installation of the certificate before you install the driver.

no issues so far. I did not test win2003 64-bit due to missing an installation media. but it should work, see also this page for an overview:

I've installed WIN2003 64 bit and after a while the system seems to hang nothing happens, vnc console is freezed and if i'm working with rdp on the win server i'm disconnected.

Win2003 R2 64Bit and latest virtio network drivers

I got some installation media, I will try to reproduce the behavior. what settings do you use?
- ram
- disktype (IDE)?
- number of cpu´s
- disksize

CPU on the host?

I dont really known the hardware because it's an OVH EG MAX dedicated server.

Processor 1x Intel Xeon Quad 4x 2.83+ GHz 12 Mo L2 - FSB 1333 MHz 15nm
Architecture 64 bits
RAM 8 Go DDR2
Hdd 2x 750 Go
Hdd Type SATA2 - RAID 1 HARD

- ram => 2048
- disktype (IDE)? => IDE
- number of cpu´s => CPU is greyed
- disksize => I tried 250G° and 64 G°

- ram => 2048
- disktype (IDE)? IDE 64Gb
- number of cpu´s 1 because CPU option is greyed and i can't change it
- disksize 64Gb

Os Guest type => Windows 2008

thanks for the info. pls note, OVH is NOT using the Proxmox VE Kernel, so we at Proxmox do not have any information about the OVH Kernel.

We will release Proxmox VE 1.0 (with the latest KVM-77) in about a week and I highly suggest to OVH that they upgrade as soon as possible to the latest version and we also try to push them using the standard Proxmox VE Kernel.

As long as they use a custom Proxmox VE Kernel you need to ask the OVH support for help.

Here is the info about my OVH server

Version (package/version/build) pve-manager/0.9/3084
Kernel Version Linux 2.6.24-proxmox #1 SMP Mon Sep 8 12:08:54 CEST 2008
